With the appointment of HBS's new Dean Nitin Nohria, it's a perfect time to discuss the future of the School. Our featured speaker is HBS Professor Nabil N. El-Hage, who also serves as the Senior Associate Dean for External Relations. Nabil will discuss the condition of the School in the current economic environment; new initiatives in curriculum and the student learning environment; the global growth of the HBS brand, including a view of the newest outpost in Shanghai; and the direction the School is likely to take in the years ahead.
Professor El-Hage is the Thomas Henry Carroll Ford Foundation Adjunct Professor of Business Administration. For the past several years, he has taught the required Corporate Finance course, Fin 2, and the elective Private Equity Finance course, the development of which he spearheaded. Currently, he teaches the elective course, Active Investing - Management and Governance, and the required course, Leadership and Corporate Accountability.
Professor El-Hage is also a business practitioner, having spent nearly two decades in business before returning to HBS in 2003. He spent roughly half that time as a principal investor, and half as an operating company CEO. He has served on many corporate boards and is currently non-executive chairman on the MassMutual Premier mutual fund complex.
The Annual Meeting portion of the evening will allow us to briefly review our progress as a club in the past year, in terms of membership, events and new services for members. We will also elect a slate of new Board members. Please plan to join us.
