MODERATOR

Mike Toffel is the Senator John Heinz Professor of Environmental Management, Faculty Chair of the HBS Business and Environment Initiative, and is course head of and teaches the Technology & Operations Management core MBA course. Toffel's research examines companies' management of environmental affairs and occupational safety, identifying which types of management programs and regulations improve environmental and safety performance.

PANELISTS

Jeremy Grantham (MBA 1966), Co-founder, Chief Investment Strategist, and Chairman of Grantham Mayo and van Otterloo (GMO, LLC), an investment management firm in Boston that currently manages approximately $71 billion, predominantly for large institutions. In 1998, Jeremy and Hannelore Grantham established the Grantham Foundation for the Protection of the Environment which focuses on climate change and biodiversity conservation.

Gina McCarthy, Former U.S. EPA Administrator (2013-2017) and Director of C-CHANGE (Center for Climate, Health and the Global Environment) at the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health. At the EPA, she led initiatives that cut air pollution, protected water resources, reduced greenhouse gases, and strengthened chemical safety to better protect Americans, especially the most vulnerable, from negative health impacts. 

David Perry (MBA 1997), President, CEO, and Director of Boston-based Indigo Agriculture (Indigo Ag, Inc.), which harnesses nature to help farmers sustainably feed the planet. He is a serial entrepreneur who has founded and built three innovative companies, leading the last two through successful IPOs and to multibillion-dollar market capitalizations, and raising over $1.2 billion, while generating significant returns for investors.
