Purpose of Business & Community Leadership Dinner Event: The mission of HBS is to educate leaders who make a difference in the world and at the Harvard Business School Association of Boston (HBSAB), we build on that mission by connecting 8,0000 HBS Alumni in Boston across 3 business Pillars spanning Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Social Enterprise to make a difference in our communities.
1. Celebrate and Recognize: Highlight and recognize leaders in Boston who exceed at contributing to our growing economy and impacting our great community through their service. Each year we will highlight outstanding leaders who excel in theses combined areas along with honoring one individual with the Business and Community Leader of the Year Award. 2018 Award will be presented to Stephen Pagliuca HBS '82, Co-Chairman of Bain Capital and Co-Owner of the Boston Celtics. Steve is being recognized for his outstanding contribution to leadership, and his unwavering dedication and commitment to numerous nonprofits in Boston and beyond.
2. Engage and Inspire: Engage, connect, and inspire 8,000 Greater Boston HBS alums to recognize their potential to not only become great business leaders, but also leaders who impact our communities for the better.
3 Support and Enhance: Proceeds from the event will support and enhance programs across HBSAB's three pillars: Leadership, Entrepreneurship, and Social Enterprise while taking our programing to the next level for even greater impact in the years to come. This includes our Community Actions Partners (CAP) program that actively works in our communities providing pro-bono services to non-profit organizations and our new StartUp Partners (SUP) program that provides pro-bono services to entrepreneurs and their new ventures. This year alone, CAP volunteers are providing upwards of 8,000 hours of pro bono consulting services to another 25 Boston-area nonprofits, equivalent to approximately $2.0 million in contributions to the community. We look forward to celebrating business and community leadership, along with Community Action Partners 25th year anniversary, a monumental milestone.
