Philip Evans, Senior Partner at the Boston Consulting Group, will present, "The Outlook for the U.S. Economy." In this session, Philip will offer a bracing analysis of the origins of the current recession, the logic and efficacy of the fiscal and banking policy initiatives taken by the Administration to address the real and financial crises, and the medium-term prospects for recovery.
Philip Evans is a Senior Partner with the Boston Consulting Group and a BCG Fellow. He founded and led BCG’s Media and then Internet practices. He consults on strategy in the context of changing information technologies. He is a frequent speaker at industry, corporate and academic conferences, including events convened by Bill Gates, Michael Milken and the World Economic Forum.
He was educated at Cambridge University , was a Harkness Fellow in the Economics Department at Harvard and also obtained an M.B.A with honors from the Harvard Business School.
He is author of numerous Harvard Business Review articles and his book Blown to Bits: How the New Economics of Information Transforms Strategy (co-authored with BCG’s Tom Wurster) was the best-selling book on the new economy in 2000. He is currently writing a book on the next generation of business strategy.
