HBSAB members provide us with certain personal data when applying for membership, and we obtain other biodata on all local alumni from HBS. We do not collect biodata on any site visitors who are not School alumni.
We use biodata to facilitate contact among our members and to communicate with all local alumni. We do not use biodata for any other purpose, and we do not release such data to any third party.
If you do not wish to receive HBSAB e-mail communications, simply e-mail HBSAB Admin at HBSAB@HBSAB.org. Type "Unsubscribe" (without the quotes) in the Subject line and supply your name in the text body.
- Usage Data
We collect data on where and for how long visitors access this site, but we do not know their personal identities when we do so. Usage data tell us which site pages are popular and indicate visitor preferences by geographic region, referring site, etc.
We also track visitors by depositing a "cookie" on their PC’s hard drive when they visit. This cookie, a small chunk of data located in the browser directory, tells us if the visitor has been here before. Use of such cookies is common Internet practice and they are easily removed if desired.
- Session Data
For members’ convenience, we may also deposit on their hard drives a cookie that allows the site to recognize them and thereby to authorize access to parts of the site that are restricted to member access only.
We may also use this cookie to authorize members’ credit card transactions, thereby reducing the amount of data required from them when they make purchases.

Members shall not use member personal data to libel, defame, threaten, abuse or invade the privacy of others, and shall not use such data to commit illegal, discriminatory, criminal or civil offenses, encourage such behavior in others, violate any party’s rights, or otherwise create liability or violate the law. We do not assume liability for any action or inaction by non-members or members with respect to conduct, communication, or content on or through the site.
- Jurisdiction
We operate this site from within the State of Massachusetts, USA. Therefore, Massachusetts law applies to the interpretation of the site’s terms of use.
As a condition of use, you agree that any action at law or in equity arising out of these terms and site use shall be filed only in the state or federal courts of Middlesex County, Boston, Massachusetts, and you hereby consent and submit to the jurisdiction and venue of such courts.
